Cape Breton Highlands National Park recorded 296,647 visits in fiscal 2025-26, and about a third of the Cabot Trail runs through it. Retail is spread around the loop: craft and gift shops in Cheticamp and Baddeck, the Ingonish and Keltic Lodge area, and the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion on the Sydney waterfront. Celtic Colours in October extends the season past most of Atlantic Canada, and most Trail businesses close from late October to May.
